1. Hanukkah and Christmas are almost upon us! Hanukkah is, as I've iterated before, my favouritest Jewish holiday of them alllllllll (and it always makes me sad when Jon Stewart tries to reconcile it with Pagan Jesustide Christmas), and so my Menorah is already out and waiting to be lit. :D As my Roomie is half-Christian, half-Muslim, I put out some Christmas decorations at her behest. Now my place looks like the clashing of the SPARKLES, or otherwise the kingdom of LED. WUT.

Now that's out of the way, let me say that "Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows" (from now on known as AGOS) is THE GAYEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE, and that includes all the ACTUAL gay movies I have seen. AGOS not only puts the BBC "Sherlock" in the disco shadows, it completely ANNIHILATES it, in terms of the homoerotic subtext/text/IDEK ANYMORE. It's a fast, engaging, supremely entertaining movie about a brilliant, addicted man who is completely in love with Sherlock Holmes and helps him kill Moriarty. Of the many, many, MANY things I loved about this movie, the following are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES:

a. That Guy Ritchie makes Very Manly Movies, and this isn't even the first he actually puts gay men in them, or indeed men dancing with each other in public. (OH, TOM HARDY, ONE OF THE MANY REASONS I LOVE YOU) No one can say Holmes and Watson aren't TOTAL BADASSES (BADARSES?), and yet here they are, waltzing with each other in a ball and having arguments whilst trapped in each other's muscular thighs. I salute you, Guy Ritchie, and hope this makes you the Marshall of London Pride one day.

b. That while the movie is an incredibly well done violent chess game, the meaning behind Moriarty's actions is not untruthful. The movie not-so-subtly portrays a world on brink of a World War, where every international scheme solved by Holmes is the equivalent of putting a band aid on a gaping open wound. Or rather, the treatment of one symptom in a possibly terminal disease. Sherlock is a minute player in a board game that is far beyond his control, and AGOS doesn't hide it. The futility of the plot is an irony that is at once delicious and painful.

c. MYCROFT HOLMES. Stephen Fry, you glorious mofo. Strutting around nekkidly, directing your old, deaf butler with what I can only assume is your penis, receiving official news AND talking to Mary Watson at the same time, I LOVED IT ALL. (extra bit of LOVE: that Fry admitted in an interview the producers were actually fact-checking the story with him on set)

d. UPHOLSTERY. 'NOUGH SAID. :D

I love this movie and I have EVERY INTENTION of seeing it again this week. You may now squeal about Batman again.

3. Speaking of Batman, I miss "Community". :( I've been marathoning season 2 the last couple of days. So here's an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME fanart of the cast of "Community" as Batman villains:

4. And if we want to be COMPLETELY geeky, here's someone's suggestion for a new "League of Gentlemen":

Oh! I love that new League too; who are the gentleman in the red tie, the person in the black armor, and the lady in the blue hoodie supposed to be?

The guy with the red tie is Luther from "Luther", the person in the black armor is someone from "Misfits" and the lady in the blue hoodie is Annie the ghost from the UK "Being Human". :)

I agree with everything you said about AGOS! Stephen Fry may have very well been my most favoritest part of the whole movie (though Holmes' tiny pony gives him kind of a run for his money). Also, YES to your thoughts on the Dark Night trailer - especially the glimpse of JGL. :D
