loony_moony: (Inception: Arthur's awesome waistcoat)
I flew back home yesterday. I am FLATTENED by the epic jet lag. But I still have a post for you. :)

1. I saw "Captain America" today! It was quite adorable, and Chris Evans spends a lot of that movie in a tight, tight, TIGHT white t-shirt, which is a quite gratifying sight. Otherwise, he's the world's most Labrador-y superhero ever (Tobey Maguire was the world's most Labradoodle superhero).

2. The second "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" trailer is up and MY FROTHING AT THE MOUTH WILL NOT CEASE UNTIL I SEE THIS MOVIE OMG OMG.

3. You should really really watch all of Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show in Paris. He went there for a week with a tiny crew and a shoestring budget, accompanied by some of his favorite guests (such as: Kristen Bell, Eddie Izzard, Jean Reno, Catherine Deneuve) and it is FABULOUS.

4. Matt Damon speaks the truth, y'all.

*keels over*

You know how there's this person all your friends are raving about, going on and on about how brilliant they are and how you two will get along amazingly and be, like, epic? And then you meet this person and find out everything is TRUE?

Behold, the cult pop culture version of this happening.

This is one of the most adorable things you'll see this week. The level of cuteness and genuine hilarity, I CAN'T EVEN. :D

Sorry for the silence! I've had a very, very, VERY long week-or-so, which was encumbered with: discovering I have a family member who is quite ill, participating in a tedious project which yesterday has come to its tedious end, and getting a new roommate. :)

So instead of whining, let me show you 4 things that made my day: )

Are you worried about Egypt? I'm worried about Egypt. 80 million angry Arabs is nothing to snigger at. Especially 80 million angry Arabs under a corrupt regime for 30 years who decide to topple it during the age of Al-Qaeda. But this is a really good place to start reading up on what's happening plus news updates. Seems to be quiet at the moment, but that's pretty much because people are asleep.

And now for something completely different.

Reason #944849584053459 why I love Craig Ferguson:

Btw, the CW still sucks as a network, if only for the reason they've decided to air a re-run of Vampire Diaries instead of new SPN. (Although it does seem SPN fandom got its revenge...) You know, the Vampire Diaries, the show they're trying to sell with the campaign: "Catch VD" and "Got Wood?". YEAH, THAT NETWORK. Did someone ever try to "Christo" Dawn Ostroff? I'm just asking!

My official list of Favourite Shows Currently Running:

Community - It's just SO SHINY. So smart and funny and touching, even when I'm sorta tired of Jeff Wenger. Though I heartily believe it's the new "Scrubs", I don't think Joel McHale is quite as charming as Zack Braff used to be.

Supernatural - It's...on the way out of this list tbh. I'm hardly the only person on my flist who feels this way, I know. I can't quite muster the unironic squee I used to have for it, and my levels of disdain for Jared Padalecki as a person are beginning to take over my affection for Sam Winchester. Idk. There's a longer post waiting to be written about this, but those are my initial observations.

True Blood - It's still my official summer crack, and I think it's wholly redeemable if they just start cutting out some of the boring storylines and/or characters. Plus, Eric Northman, Lafayette and Pam are still three of the most fun characters on television, and I love the books.

Never Mind the Buzzcocks - OH, BRITISH SNARK. Even with the cringe-worthy parade game they insist on keeping, it's still incredibly entertaining. Plus, Noel Fielding = YES PLEASE.

The Daily Show - JOOOOOOOOOOOON. That is all. :D

The Late Late Show - Craig Ferguson, I've come to realize, has made a perfect amalgamation of British and American late night formats. He's just the right amount of silly, laid back and serious. Plus, HE'S MY SCOTTISH UNF. Never leave your show omg Craig. <3333333

30 Rock - It's been coming slowly but surely. Tina Fey FTW!

Shows That Almost Make Afrementioned List:

Leverage - I seriously just need to catch up on it. I still adore it lots and lots.

The Big Bang Theory - Jim Parsons is still the funniest.

GLEE - Ack. Um, I only care about Kurt at this point? I sorta got tired of all the musical numbers and I pretty much detest any reason to have Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison on my television.

The Colbert Report - It's just that I don't quite want to watch it every night. Every couple of nights, sure!

Shows I Wish Existed So I Could Name Them My Favourites:

Jensen's Hour of Facepalm - Jensen Ackles on the many many things that make him facepalm, and us laugh and laugh. Schaaaaaaadenfreude! :D

Misha's Meditations - Misha Collins reminiscing over the many uses of pony blood, running crazy amounts and why his son has his own custom made fake mustache at the tender age of FETUS.

The Hardy Party - Tom Hardy sitting, being luscious. Tom Hardy talking like he writes, while being luscious. Sometimes P-Nut has his own corner on life advice for the newly rehabbed, as well as exercises that make your ass look like two ripe, hard melons, which Tom Hardy demonstrates in his underwear.

EXHIBIT A: So earlier this week, Emma "I. I. I." Thompson got her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it happened to be located right outside the Pig and Whistle pub. So she brought a pig and drank a pint to celebrate.

YES.

EXHIBIT B: Yesterday night, she came on Craig Ferguson's to promote the new Nanny McPhee movie, and as it often happens with Craig Ferguson, they got along like two peas in a very sexy pod. I love it whenever Ferguson gets to interview members from the elite British comedian posse he was part of in the 80s-90s, because it oftentimes means people like Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Kenneth Branagh or Emma Thompson, which a) AWESOME, and b) add a "FUCKING" between their first and last names for me. IDOLIZING? ME? NEVAAAAH. Omg if he ever gets Alan Rickman I could just DIE HAPPILY.
