As you know [livejournal.com profile] deirdre_c is one of my favorite people, internet and otherwise. She normally reserves her considerably awesome vidding gifts for SPN fandom, but she has chosen to make a quick foray into Sherlock fandom.

And this is the amazing result

Check it out! 2 minutes of video that will make your day/week/AWFUL AWFUL SHERLOCK HIATUS

<333!

I have feelings about "The Reichenbach Fall", people. Some positive, some negative, but they are FEELINGS.

Spoilers deducing spoilers )

Holy shit, do I love the new "Sherlock" episode. Even if the female characters were kinda wonky (and really, Stephen Moffat, you're making Chris Nolan look fucking balanced in comparison), there is SO MUCH  in this episode that I fucking LOVED. I keep rewatching for the good parts, namely: everything that has to do with Sherlock, Mycroft, Watson, Sherlock and Watson, Sherlock and SHEET. Also MYCROFT. My god, this episode could've only gotten better if Tom Hardy played Irene Adler's male counterpart or something, but who needs something that would give me a brain aneurysm, really. This was perfection enough.

Now I need icons.

SCREAM

loony_moony: (HP: Bitches best be recognizin)
I have seen this on tumblr and now I CAN'T UNSEE THE AWESOME:

"at one time, the HPDH2 script had Draco walking across the courtyard to his parents

until he saw that Harry was alive

at which point he shouted

and ran back

across the courtyard

away from his parents

to Harry"

(Source)

AND THEN I SCREAMED.

AND THEN I SCREAMED SOME MORE.

loony_moony: (FaTM: Covered eyes)
1. I've been listening nonstop to Florence and The Machine's "Ceremonials" (the deluxe version with the 4 extra songs) all week, only to come to the conclusion that it has no real outstanding song like "Lungs" had in "Cosmic Love" (one of the best songs of the decade, unquestionably), but that is a lot because the vast majority of "Ceremonials" is fucking STUNNING. Despite the deep and obvious influences the album draws from the 80s and 90s (particularly Björk and new-age rock), it transcends them into a uniquely Florence Welch scent sound. :D Which is to say, SHE IS JUST SO FUCKING AWESOME, YOU GUYS. Ugh I love her theatricality.

2. One of Jared Padalecki's dogs died today. Sadness that anyone would lose a beloved pet. I've seen it happen way too many times in the last few months.

3. Dustin Rowles discusses why Ryan Reynolds is not a leading man, and what makes a leading man in general. This is a much preferable article to the one he wrote before that, about how he wishes well for a bunch of douchebag actors who didn't particularly deserve their big portfolio to begin with. Ryan Reynolds is a good dude by the sound of it, but he is about as charismatic a leading man as John Slattery is. Which is to say, he is the perfect actor for supporting, scene-stealing roles, but not for the heavy lifting. However, Hollywood has apparently been experiencing a shortage of American leading men who are manly (RARRRRR! MANLY!), and had to resort to those pesky Brits, Aussies and Canadians for testosterone in target demographic age. Which is total bullshit, of course, but the point about Ryan Reynolds is well-made.

4. This happened:

And then the internet collapsed upon itself AND WAS NO MORE. Or at least tumblr did.

THINGS THAT MAKE ME SQUEE:

1. JGL on Arthur's wardrobe in "Inception":

You know, I gotta say when I first started working on Inception, some of the drawings they showed me of their ideas for that character was uh sort of schlubby, sort of like, well he’s the tech guy, he runs the machines, you know, so maybe he should be wearing some sneakers and a plaid shirt et cetera and I was like “No, no, no.” This guy is in charge of making sure everything goes right. The Cobb character that Leonardo DiCaprio played, he’s like the artist and this guy’s like the producer. So, uh, I thought of my friend Jared, who is a theatre producer by day and he’s a very spiffy dresser. And I was like, “No, I want tailored suits and I want to slick back my hair, I want this guy to seem like meticulous, like he pays very close attention to detail.”

From this interview.

I know this isn't news to anyone (and in fact, you can absolutely call me Captain Obvious for this), but I saw this random pic of Joseph Gordon-Levitt on tumblr the other day, and realized that his face is slowly (but surely) morphing into Heath Ledger's, just like everyone's been saying.

I mean, ffs they were both together on "10 Things I Hate About You" but back then they looked NOTHING alike. When Heath Ledger was younger, he looked nothing like JGL, and I remember watching him as a fucking teen on "S.W.E.A.T".

But you guys.

YOU GUYS.

Why yes, this does make TDKR even eerier. D:
loony_moony: (Tom Hardy: Sup)
Did I mention that even though I find Tom Hardy ridiculously hot, he becomes like 238427499284023 times hotter to me when he actually starts talking? Intelligent actors, pass it on etc.

TIM MINCHIN, OH MY GOD. I JUST SAW HIM LIVE, AND HE WAS WORTH ALL THE AGONIZING I DID TO GET A TICKET.

Motherfucking TALENTED AUSTRALIAN OH MY GOD. Hysterically funny, AMAZING pianist/singer/songwriter. Did the single BEST reaction joke I've heard thus far to Bin Laden's death. Had the audience on their fucking FEET CHEERING by the end. Best live performance I've seen in a WHILE.

Here are some examples for his amazingness. You are welcome to YouTube him, because so much of his material is on there.

"Confessions", which is a song that will restore your good mood ANYTIME.

"Storm", a beat poem about atheism that is at once hysterical and intimate.

And one last treat: Him and Jamie Cullum sharing a piano for a "Hit The Road, Jack" duet on Jonathan Ross.

GOD, I LOVE THIS DUDE.
