Good things happening today:
As
international help is starting to trickle into Haiti, fandom is also getting into the task of raising funds:
help_haiti, which I've already mentioned in another post, keeps getting bigger and bigger as more people offer their services for auction. Check it out! Maybe your favourite fanficcer/fanartist is taking bids for their work! I've already placed a bid or two of my own, aside for
offering my own services. :) Also,
Misha Collins' self-started fundraiser page on UNICEF for all minions has already raised
almost over(!!!) $12,000, which, WOAH FANDOM. At times like these, I'm sure Kripke is probably amazed at what his show has brought on. And Misha is AWESOME.
Bad things (relatively, in comparison) happening today:
Is Conan O'Brien going off the air already on the 22nd? It's just a rumor at this point, but it's a rumor on the NY Magazine website, so it's not to be tossed aside easily. Oh man. :(
Is the Conan backlash starting already? A ridiculous writer from the New York Post says "don't pity Conan!" because he's well compensated for his job, and while that's true a) money's really not the point here, as Jay Leno is far better compensated than Conan is, and b) it's a writer on the New York fucking Post, which is garbage de la garbage.
Jeff Zucker threatens to pull shit on Conan for his decision to leave NBC, which wow, what a fucking idiot. He's making a negative campaign on his own network right now, I hope he gets it. It sounds especially dumb and irrelevant when
Conan's viewership has dramatically risen ever since the drama has begun (over 42% increase in viewers between 18-49, and these are just the primary Nielsen numbers). This thing is becoming more ridiculous by the minute, NBC-wise.
I'm with Coco!
