loony_moony: (NMTB: Come at me bro)
MY SEMESTER IS FINALLY OVER OMG. This morning shall be FULL of Stef and TDKR prologue! :D

Now, for the meme, which I have stolen from [livejournal.com profile] ignited and [livejournal.com profile] regala_electra

Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?
A whole fucking lot, Supernatural and True Blood being the biggest. My patience ran out, what can I say. Also let go of Big Bang Theory, Leverage and Glee.

Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?
Homeland, The Wire, In Treatment (both versions), 10th and 11th Doctor, Happy Endings, Parks & Rec. Mostly because I wasn't that interested and/or lazy.

Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?
See above. :)

Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?
The Borgias. Neil Jordan is running an awful fucking ship.

Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?
Game of Thrones. They will probably kill all my favorite characters at some point and then I will feel no inclination to watch an hour-long depression-fest every week.

Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?
Community. I've been rewatching the second season the last 2 weeks and marveling at how different it is this season. Plus, it's had a fucking STELLAR run up until the unexpected cutoff the NBC douches have decided on.

Also: Suburgatory. Almost no one I know watches it, but I fucking LOVE it. Some episodes are better than others, but it's always watchable and the cast is absolutely fantastic.

Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?
The Daily Show, The Late Late Show and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. By definition, all of them are bound to have weaker episodes because of the unknown factor, so I'm willing to forgive more. I've finally set my limit with scripted shows this year (see: SPN, True Blood and their epic fuckery).

Shows I watched and loved that aren't mentioned on this list because I started them in another year.
30 Rock, The Colbert Report.

***

Your main fandom of the year?
Inception, fuck yeah! I have no idea how I got into it, or why I'm so into it. Nolan is a crafty bastard.

Your favorite film you watched this year?
50/50. I watched quite a few movies this year, and I intend to watch more, but 50/50 is a movie with a real heart, which I loved. And I would probably not have gone to see it if it weren't for [livejournal.com profile] benitle so I'm very grateful for her. :)

Also, THOR. :D

Your favorite book read this year?
I've been really bad with books this year. Started and stopped reading a whole lot of them. I would say though that Russell Brand's "My Booky Wook" is a thoroughly enjoyable autobiography.

Your favorite tv show of the year?
The Mighty Boosh, really. I discovered it this year and it was THE BEST DISCOVERY EVER. :D

Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Arthur/Eames, I don't know why or how but I LOVE the fics. I've been incepted, dammit.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
My favorites essentially on their way to leave LJ. It's not just the recent fuckery tbh. I don't see fandom truly moving to DW, but there has been a steady move towards tumblr, and you guys, I don't actually like tumblr all that much. :/

Your fiction boyfriend of the year?
Tomothy, but of course. Celebs to people are as social media is to socializing.

Your fiction girlfriend of the year?
It's a bit sad that it took me a while to think of one, but I guess Florence Welch?

Your biggest squee moment of the year?

:D :D :D :D :D!!!

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?
TDKR AND THE HOBBIT. Just like the rest of the fan community around the world.

Tonight, I bring you BATMAN! (or basically, Phil doing the intros round)

Otherwise known as "Lee Mack sings 'Batman' (when he's not macking on Noel Fielding's mom, making Noel antagonize him)".

And for today's Noel Nugget, I bring you a moment from "The IT Crowd" that made me laugh so hard first time I saw it, I almost had an abdominal cramp. Richmond Felicity Avenal, YOU ARE MY FAVORITEST GOTH IN THE WOOORLD. :D

Yesterday, I didn't do my NMTB meme. Fitting, because yesterday, a little bit after my drive-by post about "The Borgias", LJ had another DDoS attack, and I sort of gave up on trying to wrestle youtubes onto it. Btw, I am loony_moony on Dreamwidth, where my LJ is currently importing, just in case the Russian government does get to the storage servers.

ANYHOO.

Tonight, i bring you a full NMTB episode. I do this, because this episode is EPIC. It's from the 2010 season, and it's guest-hosted by the AMAZING Terry Wogan, who is every bit as legendary as the internet makes him sound (I've never heard/seen his shows, not being a UK-Ireland dweller). Check out this badass mofo, outdoing EVERYONE on that show at the age of 72, having Noel and Phil pretty much drown in fannish squee over him throughout the show.

Have fun!

So basically, remember my Mighty Boosh meme? That was fun. Ironically, though, it didn't get [livejournal.com profile] memphis86 and [livejournal.com profile] regala_electra into the show until I actually made them watch some episodes yesterday.

Now I've been requested to show some NMTB goodness, particularly NMTB goodness with some Noel in it.

So today, I'm starting this meme with 2 clips showing the intro round (each team has to do 2 renditions of song intros, which the third member of the team then needs to recognize), with Noel's team doing some ridiculous renditions of stuff.

I like to call them:

1. "Take Me To The Greenhouse", or "What Roses Should Not Be Used For".

TIM MINCHIN ♥♥♥

2. The inimitable "Satsuma LaRoux".

Oh man, I'm kinda sad to end this meme! It's been loads of fun, and as it turned out, much needed loads of fun tbh.

For the last video spam, I'm offering two classic crimps from the show:

1. "Soup"

(from series 2, episode 4: "Fountain of Youth")

2. The legendary four way crimp:

LMAO the first comment about someone doing this in a classroom and getting expelled.

(from series 3, episode 3: "The Power of the Crimp")

If I have time (and patience) tomorrow, I'll do a small picspam of the Boosh. YES, ANOTHER ONE. SHUSH.

loony_moony: (TMB: Howard is surprised (with fur))
Crank up the volume and check for any crochet needles flying at you, because it's time for NANAGEDDON!

(from series 2, episode 3: "Nanageddon")

Sadly, Nanatoo (leader of Nanageddon) has passed away a month ago. She'll be remembered for ages to come as a scary, evil demon who stabs you in the dark and screeches till your ears bleed, in the guise of a charmingly-looking nana. RIP Nanatoo.

loony_moony: (TMB: Electro Boy)
"ELECTRO BOY" DAY. :D :D :D

Arguably the greatest tune out of series 1, and one of the catchiest songs they've ever written that SO HILARIOUSLY PARODIES THE ORIGINAL STYLE.

Plus, more androgynous Vince and Howard getting bum-possessed by the spirit of Jazz IN A HOOVER.

So have a mindfuck. Or rather, a stump fuck.

An early one today!

Yesterday was a foray into arctic rap, and today is a foray into Victorian rave. I can't even tell you how much I love this song, and how much I wish I heard it remixed in a club. I'm kind of ridiculously in love with it. :D

Yesterday, I gave you mod wolves.

Today, I give you rap about the tundra. Because that's how the Boosh rolls. :D

(from series 1, episode 4: "Tundra")

For the record, I want Vince's uggs. YES.

I've decided to do a whole week of Mighty Boosh-related video posts on my LJ, pretty much because I can. Also because I think it's worth checking out, especially considering it's exactly the kind of beautiful crack my flist seems to love so much.

The videos are going to be out of the context of the episodes, so if you wanna watch the rest of the episode, get thee to You Tube!

Here is day 1: Have some Mod Wolves. :D
