I know already; they announce it right away. It wasn't me, that's all I know! :) I think I ranked about halfway, unofficially??? There were 17 singers and I was the youngest (25) and the only one still doing an undergrad. Three were already done their DMA's in operatic performance, and three more of them were working on it. Most of them were already done their masters'. Mwah! said I. The hall was huge. Freakin' HUGE. I sang my Puccini (Senza Mamma, from Suor Angelica), and they *mumblebastardsmumble* chose, OF COURSE, my Barber aria, of all things, Do not utter a word, from Vanessa. I used to sing Must the winter yada yada back in my quasi-mezzo days, and it's a LOT easier and a LOT nicer. *grumblesopranomyarsegrumble* But at least it's over now! If I'd have won the regionals, I would have had to go to New York for the national semi-finals (ha ha ha ha ha!!), where you have to perform on the Met stage. [insert more hysterical laughter here] So, I'm just as happy. :)
