I just saw "Quills" with a friend. It was really good, but still, yikes. Way too intense for either of us, and we were very grateful to be watching it together, instead of being alone and locked in our own heads with all the visual and mental imagery the movie offers.
I have to say kudos to Goeffrey Rush, because damn. That takes cojones to do. Not a bad butt either. ;D Loved his voice, he's awesome.
I also wanted to hug Joaquin Phoneix's character all the time, offer him tea and comfort sex, the poor thing. What is it about that man with being able to portray such evil and such vulnerable men so well at the same time? Why is he not being more recognized for it? It's just like Christian Bale. Yet another extremely gifted, extremely attractive actor, one of the best of his generation, how come they're not like Brad Pitt? I guess they're not typical pin-ups, but still. Ed Norton gets more recognized than them, and he's just the same. Oh, whatever.
Speaking of Brad Pitt, apparently he was shooting that new Coen Brothers movie right outside my dorms today with George Clooney. How weird it is to read one day about those guys, and know they're 2 seconds away from you the next. No, I had to work. No, I'm not desparate. Yes, they'll probably be back tomorrow. :)
Love. Night!
