1. Craig Ferguson hosts a de-audienced Late Late Show with Stephen Fry as the sole guest. (via [livejournal.com profile] elrina753)

And it's really really worth watching. Each of these men alone could stand and talk for an hour about anything that comes up in their heads, and it would be fascinating. Together, it's a fantasbulously brainy feast of popular culture, politics, drugs and bipolarity. Ferguson strips down his entire show's routine to only a short intro and then goes directly into the interview, which is really Parkinson-like, only less like a grandfather figure intrviewing someone, and more like two old friends sitting down for a chat. UGH, I LOVED.

2. Jensen Ackles had to bow down from short list for Captain America due to scheduling difficulties

DDDDDDDDDD: yes yes I know "like he even had a chance" BLAH BLAH YOU KNOW HE WOULD'VE FIT THE BILL

Cinematical thinks John Krasinski is the leading name right now, which is a rather ridiculous notion imho. I don't know a lot about the Cap, but I do know he ain't no John Krasinski, despite his height and undeniably charming smile. IDK, I guess I was having too much fun imagining Jensen in spandex having slashy dialogues with RDJ. :( Btw, "scheduling difficulties" is a nice code word for season 6, so that's another thing to think about.

3. Supernatural yet again rates high in lists of 'shows we'd like to see as video games'

It's second only to Doctor Who. Ngl, I would buy and then play the hell out of a Supernatural game.

4. Coco has a twitter!

Come bask in the ginger glory. :D

5. Jon Stewart interviewed Ricky Gervais on Monday AND I DIED OF GLEE.

IT IS THE GAYEST INTERVIEW I HAVE EVER SEEN, NO JOKE. UGH UGH UGH UGH SOMEONE NEEDS TO WRITE THIS PAIRING STAT KTX.

Noooooooooo Jensen. :((( I knew it would be a snowball's chance that he'd get that role, but still. OKAY I will be positive and think that instead of THIS role, he'll nab an even AWESOMER role down the road. Yes.

As a girl who would play Doom and Wolfenstein at age 8, I would play the HELL out of a SPN videogame. Omgggg.

DDDDDDDDD: But I sooooooooo wanted him to be the Captain. I feel like his career is slipping between his fingers, and I don't want him to disappear after Show ends. DDDDDDD:

IT NEEDS TO BECOME A GAME. Read the comments, because people have IDEAS.

Even if Jensen had kept himself in the running I would have been STUNNED if they'd given it to him.

Although I think Krasinski is a very poor choice. He just doesn't have the look....

I KNOW, but STILL! God it would've been sweet to see him as Captain America.

He really is a poor choice, but not nearly as poor as Chace Crawford, who is also trying to worm his way in.

It would be nice. I'd love to see Jensen's career completely take off (While that other guy languishes. Muahahahha)

Now that Jensen is out of the running, I'm going to sit back and enjoy the carnage as hopes and dreams are squashed.

I love Coco's Twatter bio. FUCK, does this mean I have to end my Twatter boycott?

1. OH MY GODS HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS? I love Stephen so much. Sooooooooooo much. And Craig is awesome too. Will watch later, thanks!

Ditto the Daily Show interview, which I at least knew about but didn't catch.

You're welcome! :D Fry was up as a guest on Craig's show, but Craig only decided the day before the taping that he would do this format and announced it on his twitter, but no one thought he'd follow through!

The Daily Show interview is just pure slashy magic. :D

Oooo, thanks for the Craig/Stephen link! I can't wait to watch.

ONTD makes Jensen being out of the running a lot more final than the source article does. While I know the scheduling is all screwy, I don't even necessarily believe the "short list." This kind of speculation and rumor-lacing is as much PR as anything. Ever notice how the only movies that make such a big deal out of potential casting decisions are movies with big followings like comic book movies? All part of the marketing plan, in my opinion.

Interestingly, since the mention of Krasinski, a whole lot of the fanboys on superhero blogs who weren't necessarily keen on the idea of Jensen before (though the majority of them have long been in favor of him, or at least lukewarm) are suddenly on his train. Interesting, no?

I am sure Jensen's S6 schedule is a conflict, but it's also possible that something could be worked out. My point is, until they announce who definitely IS Captain America, no one can definitively say who ISN'T. :)

Watch!!!

I know it's not the final call about it, but this is not the first time SPN 's crazy schedule has stood between the boys and big filming opportunities, if you believe the rumors. This is just the one time I actually HOPED Jensen gets his shot at something like this, and the more I think about it, the more I believe he wouldn't be able to do it, unless the next season features an MIA Dean for a good chunk of it.

And yes, I know what you're saying about all the casting rumors. They're definitely trying to get a hype going, since this is the 289371298th time I"m seeing ONTD squabble over this. I sure hope Jensen gets the fanboys truly on his side. JKras is just a no.

Ricky Gervais. I saw him in person. He is one of the few non-Daily Show people I have seen in person. Though uh, I did see him...when he was on The Daily Show...although that pretty much goes for all of the other famous people I have seen in person. But interestingly, it would appear he is on that show every 8 seconds. I found it fitting that he presented the Emmy for variety show this year. Which uh, we won, and not Colbert. I feel like I told this to the mailroom guy at Comedy Central 300 times. Maybe Colbert gets more mail, but that means nothing.

Is he as tiny as he seems? I don't think he's taller than Jon, and Jon could fit into my pocket. :D I think he's aiming for Brian Williams' guest records by the look of it. I might start collecting his appearances on iTunes too.

You know, one of my favorite things about that building is that there are not many short jokes. It's awesome. So I don't even know...it's hard to tell because the place where I would stand and watch the show is higher than the platform where the desk is. The platform can already make it difficult to judge height and whatnot. And then they're sitting most of the time. So height is hard to judge unless somebody is reaaaally tall.
