People were jumping from the Towers.

I don't think anything struck me quite as much as those particular images, 9 years ago. The roughly 200 people who went to work on the morning on 9/11/01 and ended up jumping from the Towers were, in all likelihood, not suicidal.
But they were jumping from the Towers to certain death, because it was either that, or being crushed to death by tons and tons of melted steel.

So yeah, people were jumping from the Towers.

I don't think those images will ever go away.

We were watching tv in the multi-purpose room in high school, and out of all the images and video the news was showing, the people jumping out of the buildings just made me lose it completely. I was so disturbed and distraught and sick to my stomach.

It's upsetting on levels I can't even start to fathom. They killed themselves because they were going to die, and they had no choice.

The sound they made, once down. Indescribable, and about as honestly harrowing a thing as I could ever imagine.
