And that is because I actually wasn't aware that in order to get e memory card out of a camera, one just has to press it.
Let me tell my story with a timeline:
4:45AM - Yours truly wakes up in order to get an hour before the bus leaves for DC at 7
6:00AM - Port Authority is PACKED. There is a 1/2 mile-long line for the DC Greyhound buses, and some people didn't get to go on a bus since 2AM (!).
7:00AM - Oh, the bus should've left by now. Instead, I'm standing in what is now a mile-long line for the buses, which twirls and swirls around Port Authority's northern section, filled with groggy students, older fans and people with signs and costumes. There is a guy dressed as a teabag. It's awesome.
8:30AM - On a bus! FINALLY! The bus is, of course, packed full with rally goers. There is wi-fi though!
12:00PM - We do a pit stop at the request of the driver, somewhere before DC.
It's pretty!

Look! Leaves changing!
1:30 - We finally get to DC. FINALLY. Of course, by now half the rally time is done, and we still have to walk towards the Mall from the bus station.

At least I didn't have to do it all in costume, like these guys.
2:00 - OH GOD. THE MALL IS INSANE. IT'S INSANE, YOU GUYS.

This is where I ended up in -

The sidelines of the sidelines, not even close to the barricades.
See that thing far, far away? YEAH, THAT'S THE SCREENS. THE SCREENS, YOU GUYS.

And listen, I'm not a short chick. At 5'9'', I should've had a nice vantage point from afar.
This is what I saw, if I wasn't straining on my TIPTOES:

Cue idiots who were trying to get a good spot any way possible, even if it meant risking their lives, as well as everyone below them.

Someone did shout at this dude: "Get down, you big baby!", which was awesome.
SO YEAH. 215K PEOPLE, MY ASS.
But let's not linger over that, and instead look at the nice sign/costume pics! (the real reason you clicked this lj-cut, surely)

And hey! Look! It was actually a pretty day in DC! Have some monuments.

4:30PM - Yours truly mounts a bus back, gets to NYC at 9:30, after spending a grand total of 2 hours in DC, most of which either on the phone with
sadcypress, or in line for some Chipotle goodness.
I did wear a bear hat in honor of Stephen Colbert, so here, have a picture:

Believe me, I look better pixelated here. "Hot mess" doesn't even begin to describe.
And now Mem can have her camera back. :D
